This was very well presented and structured!! Well done Tut!! Ever since I was a child I held Optimus Prime in high regard (but nowadays I'm more of a Galvy gal). What you wrote about him reflected the opinions of many Trans Fans across the globe. Even though my liking for him diminished over the years, I still won't forget the ways he inspired others whether real or fictious and let's not forget, there wouldn't be Autobots or Transformers without a legend like Optimus Prime!! ;)

This gets my highest rating. I'm tired of everyone out there bad-mouthing Optimus Prime. I find the Decepticons more intersting than most of the Autobots, but Optimus Prime will forever live in my heart as my absolute favorite Transformer. He is what I long to be. Courageous, Compassonate, caring, Strong of body, mind and will. A wonderful leader that anyone can look up to in the time of need. He brought joy to me when I was a little girl and he still does even though I'm close to 30 years old now. He still brings me the same emotions that he gave me as a little girl. Undying love, respect and admiration. His death in the movie upset me greatly and you can imagine my delight in having him returned to us. People need to lay off of him. he was designed to be a role model for children, nothing more, nothing less. I myself aspire to be as good a person as I can be and Optimus is the embodiment of what I wish I could be.
Bravo for such a wonderful Essay Tut.

After re-reading this, I must recant my original (though favorable) opinion as not doing it justice and give this work the highest possible marks. It's an eloquent essay that spans trivial faction loyalties while touching the real heart of the matter.

I've gotta give this a 10. I personally hate it when someone rags on a TF without any real evidence to back it up, and you have a ton of evidence to defend Prime. I like it.

Tut, This was a well thought out essay, and I really enjoyed reading it. You have it all figured out to a science, which is sorta scary, but also intriging Hee hee!
I wonder about the Optimus/Megatron battle in TF Movie. Was he really bound by honor at that point? I personaly don't think Prime saw the weapon. I think though that he would have caught it in time and would have blown away Megs (if of course you know who hadn't appeared). It is fun to think that he delayed by some sort of pity or something. Cause if Megs was gone, who would he fight? He'd be left pumping gas at Arco, HA HA HA!
Loved the story of hope too, damn, what influence he had, huh? I too was pretty upset at his passing. But, thank God he's back!
Anyway, great job again! Well worth the read.
