Fanpoodles? Unfortunately there are a lot of looney bin people that would go after the Transformers creators like the psychos who went after Princess Anne and the Queen but let's have a little perspective peeps! There is a huge difference between psychos that stalk other people because they are bloody nuts and the simple fans, consumers, who would just like Hasbro and the creative types behind the genre to know what they would like to see. Personally I have only met the sticklers who know every detail of every timeline. Be it X-Men or Transformers. None of them are violent, some of them did get dream jobs or they just need something else to do. I respect the fact you are trying to point out that people can go overboard over something silly. But have you thought it out? Let us talk about the good and the bad not just the ugly. You should change your title.

Let me put it this way. Writers and execs live in a proverbial vacuum. None of them had any idea of what they were doing in a wider sense when they created the cartoon. They wanted something for kids that would make money. Many of them did not care then nor do they care now how they flesh out their characters or follow the story line. They write and re-write and play with everything like a bad soap opera. I cringe too when I try to watch Armada and the like, but then that is what they seem to do: invent things over and over. That is the way it goes. Steven Spielberg at least appealed to us by inviting Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime but he knew the movie would attract older audiences, again here are the signs of money.

In all of fandom there are millions of genres we as fans write fanfiction for. Be it for a bunch of kids toys or an adult TV show or film. We write because we see something in the characters we know could be explored further. We identify with them somehow even if it is a silly sit-com. Drama and the evolution of these characters is the key to every best-selling book or popular movie or TV series. It won't start a career but it does not make the level headed fans a bunch of stalkers or barbarians raising our clubs against Hasbro. In retrospect the company has been quite gracious and respectful of Transformers fans and may even procure ideas from us from time to time. They seem to know that if a company took their idea and hoarded it away, ignoring its fans, they would loose interest and a great deal of money. We at least get the satisfaction of seeing or favorite characters agian, every once in a while.

A very good essay. I agree with what you say completely. Giveing death threats to people!? Why? I will admit that I am a G1 person all the way. I tried to watch Beast Wars and Armada. The former was hard for me to get into and watching the latter made me ill. I, myself, hate to see the same names used for the characters though. I associate names and faces and these new faces don't go with the names. LOL, but I appreciate what you say in your essay. I'm just happy that they do put something out for us G1 people. That is what matters to me. People need to lighten up a bit. It was all created for children in the first place. We need to remember that.

Oh yeah! Once again, ya laid the smack down! I hope you don't mind me saying that silly phrase.

I too have come across my fair share of TF fanpoodles...and indeed, they are scary. Especially when you consider that it's all over a bunch of toys and/or thirty-minute toy commercials! I never knew about the death threats before. Yikes, I say!

Well to wrap this up, all I can say is...wouldn't you LOVE to ask those who think they can do better than Hasbro can why they're not currently applying at Hasbro for employment? I know I would (if you get me drunk enough. They're fanpoodles, after all!).
