Story Notes:

This one-shot is the prelude to my new series, Wounded Light, which follows my Unbroken series. It's a missing scene from the Episode 9, Fire on the Mountain, and explores a rather telling moment in which Starscream, who hs just tried to shoot Thundercracker, turns his back on him once he realizes that his blast hit Skyfire instead. Ostensibly, he does this to gloat, but can that be his true motive when logically, he has every reason to expect TC to retaliate? Starscream is well known for (shall we say) his instincts for self-preservation, so it would seem that at that moment, something else took precedence; something that was apparently even more important to him than life itself.
