Why did I buy him?
Oh yeah - his main gimmic.
Two full teams of mini-cons (Destruction, Land Adventure) were designed to take advantage of his gimmic: when his main rotor spins, it activates a gear mechanism which in turn activates a
mechanism on the mini-con. But unfortunately, like so many other TFs over the years the gimmic consumes the entire figure. In vehicle mode it isn't really apparent, but in robot mode he's got
disporportionately long legs, a tiny head, and a torso that just looks *odd.* Not only that, his entire tail assembly (which makes up most of the length of his vehicle mode) becomes kibble; it can't be transformed in any other way as that's where the trigger is.
He has some other gimmics to help compensate, but they don't really overcome everything. Both arms have a mini-con activated missile launcher, and both legs have a mini-con activated machine gun. In addition, Crumplezone can attatch to his chest and form a second cockpit. However, given that Crumplezone has an alt mode of his own (a tank), it's a little much for the little guy.
I got this guy at a yard sale; someone had a bin full of TF figures in individual plastic bags. I actually thought that I put him back in the bin, but I guess I must have grabbed him by mistake. I'm almost actually grateful I didn't spend the money to get his Energon redeco. Rating: 0 / 10.
