It's been said before and I'm gonna say it again...DAY-am! This is one hell of a good piece of work. I am greatly impressed by the hard-hitting and truthful way you handled the characters. My one and ONLY disappointment was the somewhat stereotypical portrayal of Elita-1 (including the Op/Elita relationship) as the dominant, unconquerable...almost *Prime-like* femme that so many other writers seem to see her as. But of course that is merely personal preference. The story itself is no less than Awesome!

I get So annoyed(and oft Disgusted) with fans trying to "humanize" TFs so they can use them in their own little fantasies. GOOD storytelling has become a lost art. Since comments were invited..and no one else seems to want to do it.. I'm going to be bluntly honest.. even if I had NO respect for the character of Optimus Prime.. this isn't the least bit funny, unless you happen to be a 12 yr old boy, then maybe it would be to you. And it seems I'm not the only one that feels that way. It comes across as something a couple of pre-teens on a Saturday-night sugar high would come up with. My advice.. Little bit of *bathroom humor* goes a VERY long way.. and a little bit of maturity would do wonders.

This caught my attention mainly because it is G1 based. Seems to be a rare thing these days. You have come up with with a fascinating concep! As far as I know.. no one else has done anything like this. You seemd to be a pretty competent writer and the story looks quite promising! So far you got the TF characters nailed down. My only nitpic would be this.. Your choice of human characters is somewhat questionable. It makes me think of "Lost in Space", having the impression of a teen fantasy come to life. In a realistic setting (TFs not withstanding) a 15 or 16 yr old kid would NOT be at all qualified to go on a mission like that. But then I have to remind myself that you're probly pretty young youself. And it's what YOU would enjoy. Old farts like myself sometimes forget what it is to have fun! ;)

I shudder to think of the hand cramps and carpal tunnel you must be suffering after this one..;) I must say to me it was Well worth it! You nailed every point that I could think of myself and brought up a few new ones. And I have to say I agree on 99% of what you stated. I think perhaps the Only exception would be the Optimus and his faceplate thing. (btw.. I'm pleased you call it a faceplate and not a "battlemask" -irk!) To me personally.. it's part of who he is. No matter what new form he may take.. that's one feature , like his voice, that should not change. IMHO of course ;) My thanks to you for a very thorough and enlightening review/rant/revamp! Heh.. well done!
