Chapter 9, The Great Escape

The Next Day.

(From Phoenixfire's point of view)

That morning Shockwave took me to get ready for the fight.

He put new armour on me and put a new weapons belt on me.

I looked at myself in mirror as I activated my mouth-plate.

Weirdly I looked quite similar to Optimus himself...

I dismissed the thought and continued to get ready.

I was scared for the first time in my life; I knew I was going to die if I didn't pull something off.

I would need a miracle.

But it isn't going to happen though, oh well better face the music.

In The Glatorian Ring.

I stepped out into the ring, the crowd was going wild.

The prisoners weren’t among them oddly.

Megatron came out of the door on the other side, the crowd fell silent.

I got my swords out, he got his out.

This was going to be a duel to the death.

We then clashed and the cheering started again!

My first move was kick; it was swift and landed in the leader's chest.

I then grabbed him and threw him into the wall, head first.

He then got back up and punched me.

I got back up on my feet and started doing kung-fu moves, he blocked most of these.

He grabbed my foot and threw me into the wall.

That hurt even more.

I transformed in to Phoenix mode, took off and did flamethrower, this hit the leader in the leg.

I then tried to do my K.O. move, but he grabbed my claws and slammed my neck into the ground.

He was a lot better fighter than Optimus Prime, a lot smarter I think.

I shook my head and my eyes glowed red.

I tried this move 3 times, each time getting my claws very close to his face.

But he kept blocking it every time.

I transformed into cheetah mode and jumped on top of him, biting into his arm.

But he punched me in the eye, I let go and shook my head in pain, I couldn't see anything in my left eye.

Megatron took his chance punched me in the back, I've never felt so much pain in my life

I wobbled to my feet.

The bell went for the first round.

Thank Primus above, saved by the bell!!

Shockwave looked over me for injuries, the punch to the back hurt a lot, but it didn't do much damage at all.

After a drink of Energon, I was put back in the ring for round 2.

This time he tried to shoot me and he peppered my wings.

Then he tried to ride me, he hung on for some time until I bucked him off.

Megatron flew into the crowd and I jumped into the crowd after him.

All the watchers backed off when they saw me.

The Decepticon leader was lying down; he then got up and pointed his gun at my head.

Seekers grabbed my reins to stop me escaping.

Then...

SMASH!!!!!!

Something landed on my back and I bolted, while shattered glass landed all around me.

Just that second, he fired. That was a narrow escape.

I could hear Megatron behind me shouting, "DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY!!!!!"

I ran as fast as I could, the thing was still on my back, it shouted, "Woah, woah, woah!!!! Phoenixfire calm down!!!! For Primus's sake calm down!!!!"

Wait... I know that voice; I looked behind me and saw a sight for sore optics.

Bumblebee.

He smiled at me; I smiled back and asked, "How did you know it was me?"

"I watched the whole fight, I saw you transform into Phoenix mode, just had to wait for the right time."

"Could you have cut it any closer, one more second and I would've been dead." I said.

We both laughed.

We went past the prisoner cells; I came to a stop and told Bee to shoot the computer which controlled the Energon bars/cells.

He did that and we freed the others.

I told Whitefire, Blackfire, Rakatan and Havana to carry two Autobots each. And I could hear Megatron shouting orders to his troops.

We had to get out of here now!!!

We made our way to the exit, I was leading the pack.

The exit was in sight, but then Shockwave stood in front of us.

I slammed on the brakes along with the others.

We stopped right in front of him.

Then I rammed him on to ground and ran over him.

So did the others.

We were now free, I shouted to the others, "GO TO OPTIMUS PRIME AND TELL HIM I FREED YOU!!!!! WE'LL LEAD THE DECEPTICONS AWAY FROM YOU!!!!"

Bee and I broke off from the group and the Seekers followed.

I slowed down a bit and asked, "Why did you come and rescue me?"

"Because I love you, and besides I needed to pay you back for taking that missile for me."

I was touched by that, I didn't know he loved me; nobody's ever loved me before.

I thanked him and I continued, "Did you come on your own?"

"Yeah, I didn't even ask Optimus, after that fight I knew he'd say no."

I picked up the speed a little and started to climb the buildings.

I jumped from building to building without any problems at all.

We eventually reached the neutral territory and I hoped that by reaching the Autobot side would mean we were safe.

But I was on the last building before freedom when I jumped but slipped on the landing!!!!

Luckily I transformed, grabbed the ledge and Bee had grabbed my hand.

The Seekers, who were chasing us, had now transformed and stopped in mid-air.

I could hear them saying, "No way are they getting out of that mess." and, "Rust in peace you two!!!"

They transformed and flew off.

I was left hanging on for dear life, but my fingers were slipping fast.

I looked down at Bumble, he looked just as scared and I was scared too.

One by one my fingers let go of the ledge.

If you think I've got an idea, you're wrong.

"Phoenix, can't you transform into phoenix mode and fly us to safety?" Bee asked.

"No, I can't. Megatron peppered my wings during combat!! In both modes!!!"

Bumblebee looked at me grimly.

I was on my last two fingers, I said to Bumble, "We had some good times, didn't we?"

"Yeah we did, well see you on the other side."

My hand then let go of the ledge, we both fell...
