I'm glad someone went to all the trouble to state the cause of mass-shifting and the use of subspace pockets. I tried to start up a conversation on the Primus Comics mail list with few results. I am of the opinion that much of the theoretical science-both seen and unspoken in Transformers is plausable simply as you say: Our own science is limited both by our knowledge and time spent on this mudball of a planet. And while your point seemed to drag on a bit, I still enjoyed your essay . . . there aren't enough of these here at the Lex
