Darn you! Where's the rest of this fic? You can't leave a girl hanging like that, it's too cruel! Not to say I don't like your crossovers, but I really really enjoy this fic so far. Any plans to continue it? ::crosses fingers:: Anyway. I love, love, LOVE your characterization of Optimus Prime. He's... what's the word I'm looking for... snarky. Snarky and a bit jaded, like he actually HAS been fighting a war for millions of years. And he has a sense of humor. And it works! It really, really works! It's so wonderful! I love the friction between him and Roddy too - they're both being equally blockheaded, yannow. ;) Anyway, thanks for a truly enjoyable read, and I hope you find time to continue this sweet piece of work.
Woo! Sorry it took so long to review this last part. Got caught up in other stuff. ;-)
The plot's still great. You have a nice, slow building a tension without leaving anything out. All details and plot holes are covered, from what I see. Lots of nice emotions flowing in and out. The reader really feels Prime's passion to do this from the beginning. Also, the narrator's tone has evened out to a point where I can recognize and believe that it is Prime's.
My disagreements with the plot are still in characters. Jazz, Goldbug, etc. are all in character, and I can let Prime go at this point since he does mention regrets and does see the problem from both his end and Rodimus'. I can't say I'm comfortable with the idea of how Rodimus is handling it, but I'll let it go for now since you've given it a decent background and explanation.
However, Prowl seems too emotional. He is, after all, supposed to be the Autobot counterpart to Shockwave, a cool, logical warrior with an even temper. It seems strange to see him slurring names, throwing around accusations, and generally having a temper where it's not expected.
Grimlock's also controversial. This is based on the show right? Well, as I recall, season three Grimlock is far different from what I see here. One of the prominent qualities I remember about him is that he was loyal and rather personally fond of Rodimus Prime. I agree that Grimlock is always one for a fight, nor is he one for subtlety, but I'm surprised that he's so eager to go through with a plan that he knows would both be a betrayal and humiliation to his commander without even a moment of regret or reservation.
Still, over all a great story. Love the word use, and the plot is starting to really get underway. It really pulls the reader in and excites them, preparing them to go along on this wild chase along with the main characters. So great job thus far. I have my reservations about characters, but I'd like to see more.
